Cruel joke or misinformation? Last month, PlanetQuake4 informed the public that they had exclusive information revealing that launch of a QuakeWars demo in time for QuakeCon 2006 in August.

The news quickly spread, causing some excitement for fans of the game before it was once again withdrawn by PlanetQuake4.

"I had the chance to talk with Edward ‘Bongoboy’ Stern of Splash Damage about the game. Stern revealed that a playable demo will be out hopefully by QuakeCon 2006."

Despite the obvious disappointment caused by these rumours and their subsequent denial, QuakeCon 2006 will no doubt be just as interesting and exciting to game fans and developers as ever.

We are all hoping to see a further demonstration of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars at the upcoming QC, even if chances of a demo at that time are looking less likely.
