ETQW: Ok, so… we already know a few things about you; including that you are from Santo Domingo but have been living in the USA for some years. Is there anything else you’d like to tell us which hasn’t been mentioned yet?
CE|DomMafia: I don't really know… I live in New Jersey, in a little city called Paterson
ETQW: How old were you when you started gaming? What was the first game you played?
CE|DomMafia: About 15 years old, my first game was Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun.
ETQW: To reach the top of the player lists takes a lot of time. How do you fit it all in with a ‘normal life’, job, family and friends?
CE|DomMafia: Well, to be honest, my wife complained a lot in the early days about my gaming. But we did manage to reach a compromise: I could have my addiction but I have to carry the shopping more often.
ETQW: What makes ET: QW attractive to you as a game?
CE|DomMafia: Well, the game is very dynamic. I can choose a class depending on how I am feeling at that moment. If I'm in action mode; I can be a Soldier with a rocket-launcher and blow up everything in my path. If I'm relaxed; I can choose a sniper, find a quiet spot and kill from a distance. The vehicles also add a lot of fun.
ETQW: I’m sure that a lot of people reading this interview feel like you. What do you think about the future of ET: QW? Do you think that the game will be a revolution or a tragedy?
CE|DomMafia: Well I love this game and so does my clan. There have already been a lot of championships with some excellent cash prizes during the BETA and now also for the Demo. If the scene is this active now, imagine what the full version will bring!
ETQW: From the maps you have seen, which is your favourite?
CE|DomMafia: ISLAND!
ETQW: What would you prefer in a tournament? Infantry only or with vehicles?
CE|DomMafia: I like both. I really like the way the maps are broken up in infantry and vehicles areas. Like SEWER, from the first BETA.
ETQW: Tell us about your plans for this game? What will your clan be doing next? Any tournaments planned?
CE|DomMafia: Well, I am a member of Clan CE (http://chemelement.net). We are already busy planning for TGL’s upcoming tournament
ETQW: Tell us a little bit about your clan?
CE|DomMafia: We have a lot of Hispanic people in the Clan. The leader, popinaclip, and Sephiroth are Mexicans. Our sniper, ghost_operative, is from Cuba and I’m Dominican. We have a couple of gringos, good players and good friends too.
ETQW: What kind of PC setup do you use to play ET: QW?
CE|DomMafia: Ok, my full specs:
Mouse: Logitech MX518
CPU: Intel core 2 duo @ 3.0 GHz
Video card 3d: nVidia 8800gtx
Memory: 4gigs corsair xtreme (xms2)
Windows XP (to play) and Vista (for my wife, so she can enjoy the beautiful graphics)
ETQW: What kind of keyboard do you use? Or do you prefer to use a joystick?
CE|DomMafia: I have a Microsoft digital media pro keyboard, nothing special and a joystick, Logitech xtreme 3d, but I don't use it to play Quake Wars.
ETQW: What is your relationship with the creators of ETQW?
CE|DomMafia: They were the best aspect of this game. They help and interact with the community more than any other game company that I know. It was a real pleasure to talk with Locki (owner of Splashdamage) and Bongoboy.
ETQW: Do you think that being one of the first players will give you more insight into the game? What do you think about the lag problems experienced by some to date?
CE|DomMafia: They (the developers) added me to MSN. I haven't got problems with lag. During Beta 2 there were a lot of problems with lag, caused by a memory mistake... but it was quickly fixed.
ETQW: Did you know about the ETQW.com community?
CE|DomMafia: I didn't. I always went to the official site because I didn't know that there was a Hispanic community. At first, I thought that I was possibly the only Hispanic person playing, but through the official forum I have come to know a few good Hispanic communities.
ETQW: Do you have anything you want to add? Something I should have asked?
CE|DomMafia: Well, I would like to say Hi to my wife and thank her for understanding and leaving me alone with my hobby. Greetings also to my clanmates and thanks to Splashdamage for the game and to ETQW.com for this interview.
