Unranked server files for ETQW

"Server admins rejoice! For packaged within the ETQW Open Beta 2 client installer is the win32 dedicated server exe, along with a handy server launcher tool. With this, you can now run dedicated unranked servers both on a LAN, and the internet. You'll be able to run private servers, change the game type, game length, spawn bots; all that good stuff.

Further to this, we will be releasing a lite server that does not require all the client assets to host games within the next few days. Linux chaps; don't worry, there's a version of the lite server coming for you too.

We'll follow up with more details when we're ready to release the files."

To add to the list of goodies being distributed, we also have our own addition, provided by Robert of Infinity Gamehosting: an easy to use server config generator to make beta server building that much easier.

We have also awarded additional prizes of Public Beta keys to Ravensbane , Robz and SledGe based on public support and for their truly excellent submissions which, for reasons unknown, were not rated as highly as we believe they deserved to have been.

Locki's Blog: Public Beta 2 coming soon!

"Last week I flew back to London from the E3 Business and Media Summit in Los Angeles. We demonstrated Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars on the PC and XBOX 360, so to get back and start reading so many positive previews has made everyone here feel great. I'm even more pleased about the recent announcement that ETQW has been nominated for two E3 Games Critics Awards; Best PC Game of Show and Best Multiplayer Game of Show - this should be good news if you're in possession of a Beta key, because the build the journalists played at E3 was a preview of the Beta 2 build that we're about to release to you! The build is in testing at Activision right now and will be initially released to the QuakeCon audience for BYOC play. We hope to have it to FilePlanet within the next week or two for a wide release to all of our public beta testers."

Contest Submissions Closed!

Finally the time I have personally been dreading has arrived: time to count up the votes, start beating my fellow staff members into submission and working out just who out of our many many talented entrants deserves to win.

The rating system has now been disabled, but all the entries are still online to check out. So, don't be afraid to size up the competition.

We will be announcing the winners tomorrow on all ETQW.com homepages and the winners will, of course, be contacted via email as soon as we have news!

A small note of thanks to everyone who submitted their creation and to everyone who supported them all by voting. It's a shame we do not have hundreds of prizes to award.

Stay tuned!

1 day to go!

Only 1 more day to go people!! Submissions for the Get Creative contest close tomorrow, Monday 30th July at 12:00 noon (CET) ... and then the hard part really begins!!

The rating option will be disabled once the submission deadline is reached, whilst we count votes and rip our hair out trying to decide who the rightful winners are... and I, for one, am not really looking forward to trying to decide!

After we are through, all our entries will be publicly viewable... and for the first time ever, open to comment!

The standard is immense! The level of talent among our members continues to astound us all.. and the entries continue to trickle in.

Good luck to everyone who entered... and don't forget to tell your friends to vote for you while you still can!!

The best and worst of E3

E3 is a huge event in the gaming development calendar and, along with the usual pleasant surprises, there are also bound to be a few let-downs.

AMN take their own look at the most recent E3, sounding off their thoughts on various matters.

No real mention of ETQW in there... which may not be such a bad thing!
