CB ETQW Open Cup '07 - Sponsored by Activision

C'mon, admit it...we all secretly dream of receiving a note from Activision (publisher of ET:QW in case you didn't know.. and if you didn't.. where've you been?) with a large bundle of cash tucked in for good measure.

So, when it finally happens if it couldn't be me (and why wasn't it? hmm?) then at least it went to a very deserving cause!

ClanBase are the happy recipients of a 4000 Euro sponsorship deal for their upcoming Fall '07 ETQW Open Cup and rather than hanging on to the cash for their Christmas bash decided to split the money between the 4 lucky winners:

ETQW for less!!

If you didn't find time to get to the shops yet, then it could well be your lucky week.... if you live in the US!

Circuit City stores across the US have already dropped their prices to $37.99 for the entire of this week.Wwith the possibility of a few other stores dropping their prizes too for the duration of the offer and/or in-store price-matching, there has never been a better time to shop around.

But definitely DO get shopping... we need you on the battlefields!

For the EU residents among us, Play.com and Amazon are also dropping prices, if you look around!

ETQW Stats and signatures

One of the best things about the communities surrounding ET:QW is the level of talent and creativity of so many of the members. Add to those things a dash of inspiration and a large dollop of technical know-how and you come up with something along the lines of QW-Stats.com's signature generator.

All you have to do to create a signature is fill in your ET:QW Login name (not your password... it's perfectly safe!) hit the "Create Signature" button and by the wonders of modern technology, your stats and sig will be instantly called up on the screen for you.

Shacknews Creative Writing Contest

OK, get your pens and papers out again, Shacknews have their new contest up and running and looking for the next literary genius among the ranks of their visitors.

The stories must be written from either a Strogg or GDF perspective and take place during the invasion of Earth.

With 10 ETQW T-shirts and dogtags to give away and top prizes of Limited Collector's Editions of ETQW, it's definitely worth an attempt!

ETQW on Steam

As suspected, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars will be joining id Software's line-up on Steam and is available for pre-purchase immediately.

There is even an Official Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Steam Group, so join up!

The game will be available for play on October 5th in Europe and October 9th in the United States.

Nordic Tournament

Activision Nordic have recently announced their sponsorship of the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Nordic Championship 2007, a huge tournament for all Scandinavian teams.

With prizes set to include 15,000 SEK (that's a kind of money in case you did know) and an all-expenses to QuakeCon 2008  for the winning teams, it looks like the Nordic lands are finally heating up!
